Bangkok / Krung Thep: Alibaba Launches First Data Center in Bangkok Thailand

Alibaba Cloud opened its first data center in Bangkok, Thailand. The company first announced the facility in October 2021. It, however, had an opening ceremony for the new data center this week. Alibaba Cloud Intelligence’s country manager for Thailand, Tyler Qiu, said data protection and security remain Alibaba’s priority even through expansion. He added that the company is committed to following Thailand’s data rules and regulations. Qiu further noted that Alibaba would use its vast technical know-how to bring world-class digital infrastructure to Thailand.

Alibaba currently operates 27 regions and 84 Availability Zones across the world. The Bangkok facility offers one Availability Zones. The CEO of HiCloud, Diego Ma, mentioned that the company is working with Alibaba to bring world-class solutions to Thailand to help increase cloud adoption for their businesses.
