Avacon & enviaM partner to develop new facility in Hanover, Germany

Engineering firm Avacon Group and regional energy provider enviaM Group have patnered to develop a data center in the Sehnde-Ost industrial area of Hanover, Germany. This facility will span 2,000 square meters and will potentially house 28,000 servers.

The data center is being developed by a joint venture between Avacon subsidiary Avacon Connect and enviaM subsidiary en-via TEL called Avacon Data Center GmbH. This facility is scheduled to be launched in 2024 and it will be powered by renewable energy and will reuse waste heat once completed in 2024. 

Marten Bunnemann, CEO of Avacon AG said, “The Avacon Data Center in Sehnde not only sets new standards for security and performance but is also an important stimulus for the economic development of the Hanover region. With minimal latency times and maximum data security, we are strengthening the competitiveness of local companies and making the Hanover region even more attractive for investment.”
