Australian real estate firm Stockland is constructing a five-story data center in Macquarie Park, Sydney. The facility, valued at AU$264 million (US$204.3 million), will be leased to a 'major cloud computing provider,' believed to be AWS.
Stockland and Fife Capital have filed plans to develop a 168MW hyperscale data center at 90 Aldington Road, Kemps Creek, Western Sydney, on a 92,400 sqm (995,000 sq ft) site. The project includes 12 data halls and a planned 1GW substation, with an estimated investment of AU$3.94 billion (US$2.7 billion), and is currently in the early SEARS planning stage.
