Zenith Volts, a US energy infrastructure developer, has received approval for a new data center project in Roswell, New Mexico. The Chaves County Commission approved the project on a 300-acre plot with room to expand.
The company plans to develop a massive 8,500-acre site focused on providing reliable infrastructure for AI, cloud computing, and high-performance workloads. The project will feature a diverse set of on-site power solutions, such as solar power, natural gas generators for backup, modular solar-thermal hybrid systems, and a 250-acre battery energy storage system.
While the capacity of each power solution has not been disclosed, it appears the facility will operate off-grid. Zenith Volts aims to have the project fully operational by November 2027 and is currently seeking anchor partners from technology companies, cloud service providers, and AI innovators.
Zenith Volts Corporation integrates utility-scale renewable energy with digital infrastructure. The company focuses on developing ecosystems that combine solar power generation, advanced battery storage, and data centers. Headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with projects throughout the U.S., Zenith Volts develops and manages large-scale facilities. These include multi-gigawatt solar farms, multi-gigawatt-hour battery storage systems, and off-grid data centers. The company also incorporates geothermal and advanced cooling solutions. By combining these elements, Zenith Volts aims to provide secure, cost-effective, and carbon-neutral operations for its clients.
