Valencia Digital Port Connect (VDPC), a Spanish telecoms infrastructure firm, has chosen Sagunto as the site for its new cable landing station and multi-purpose data center.

Located on a 3,800 sqm (40,900 sq ft) plot about 30km north of Valencia, this two-story facility will span 4,800 sqm (51,665 sq ft) and accommodate over 400 racks. It will feature four data halls, two meet-me rooms, and a 300kW rooftop solar system. The station will be capable of hosting up to four subsea cables, with operations slated to begin in early 2028.

VDPC is also developing the Barracuda submarine cable project with Teset Capital. This 1,060 km, 12-fiber pair cable will connect Genoa and Valencia, offering 32 Tbps per fiber pair.
