The University of Hawaiʻi Information Technology Center is a 74,000-square-foot, six-story facility on the UH Mānoa campus that serves as the central hub for information and communication technology systems across all 10 University of Hawaiʻi campuses statewide. The building houses a data center with an 8,000-square-foot Tier II machine room for enterprise servers, storage, and communications equipment.
The facility includes meeting and training rooms, the university's IT Help Desk, modern workspace for IT staff, faculty facilities for digital media development, and advanced teleconferencing environments for global collaboration within the UH community.
The building achieved LEED Gold certification through sustainable design strategies including shading systems, reflective surfaces, drought-tolerant landscaping, low-flow water fixtures, and occupancy sensors, resulting in a 22% reduction in energy consumption compared to baseline specifications. The facility was designed by Honolulu-based Ferraro Choi and Associates Ltd.
