In a collaboration with Japanese technology company Datasection, Spanish renewable energy firm Solaria is planning to build an artificial intelligence data center. This 100,000-square-meter (1 million sq ft) facility will be situated at one of Solaria's facilities in Puertollano, a municipality in the province of Ciudad Real, Castile-La Mancha.
Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente is a company focused on providing carbon-free energy through its solar power plants. Operating primarily in Spain, with additional presence in Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Uruguay, Solaria is positioned in the solar photovoltaic (PV) sector, which specialized media identifies as the renewable energy source with the strongest growth potential in the medium to long term. Industry insights also highlight solar PV as one of the most cost-competitive energy sources globally, underscoring a bright outlook for the industry.
The company is committed to expanding its generation portfolio, targeting markets with favorable regulatory environments and high investment returns. To achieve this, Solaria emphasizes minimizing operational costs, optimizing project financing, and reducing reliance on recourse debt to the lowest possible level. Alongside its core energy generation business, Solaria offers specialized services, including custom operation and maintenance of solar power plants and the development and operation of PV projects.
