Sentinel Data Centers has backed off plans for its proposed $550 million colocation data center project at the former Androscoggin Mill in Jay, Maine.

Planned in partnership with JGT2 Redevelopment, the massive project was designed to transform the closed 1965 paper mill into roughly 1 million square feet of data center space across two floors. Despite strong backing from local officials and the successful veto of a state-wide data center moratorium by Maine's governor, Sentinel ultimately dropped its development plans, leaving the site's future on hold while JGT2 searches for alternative partners.
