Scala Campinas CP1: Scala Data Centers acquires Algar Tech data center

Scala has announced its acquisition of Algar Tech’s data center and colocation operations in Capinas near São Paulo for $183 million. The company plans to modernize and expand the Tier III building and use it as a base for a new data center campus.

Once the facility, which utilizes photovoltaic energy, has undergone full development, it will total 130,000 sqM and have a capacity of 100MW distributed across three buildings.

According to Luciano Fialho, VP of M&A and corporate development at Scala, the acquisition “accelerates” the company’s entry into the market in Campinas.
