Scala Data Centers: Scala Data Centers To Invest $48M in Developing a Data Center in Porto Alegre, Brazil

Scala Data Centers has announced its plans to develop a new facility in Porto Alegre, South Brazil. The Latin American data center company plans to invest R$250 million (US$48m) to bring the data center to life. Scala plans to use its new FastDeploy modular design for the data center. The facility is scheduled to come online in Q2 2023 and has a total capacity of 7.2MW.
The CEO of Scala DC, Marcos Vinicius B. Peigo, said: “Strategically located as the closest Brazilian metro area to Buenos Aires and Montevideo, Porto Alegre has a vibrant technology & telecom ecosystem and a long history of innovation in several industries.” Scala Data Centers is a subsidiary of DigitalBridge. The company was formed in 2020.
