In April 2025, Finnish developer Polarnode reached a land lease agreement with the City of Nokia to establish a data center in the Juhansuo district. Representing an investment of several hundred million euros, the project will be situated on a 5.5-hectare plot, leveraging the area’s robust electrical grid and central location.
The facility is expected to bolster Finland’s digital infrastructure, creating hundreds of jobs during its 2–3-year construction phase and fostering long-term economic growth through permanent operational roles and increased tax revenue. This project is a key component of Polarnode’s broader 500 MW portfolio aimed at positioning Finland as a sustainable hub for the global data center industry.
