OpenAI's "Stargate" data center is being built in Milam County, Texas, in partnership with SB Energy (a SoftBank Group company). SB Energy is providing the powered infrastructure for the fast-build data center site, which it had previously planned as a $3 billion campus spanning 595 acres.
This development is part of a major initiative: a July 2025 agreement between OpenAI and Oracle to establish up to 4.5 gigawatts of additional Stargate capacity.
