The Pecém Data Center project in Ceará, Brazil, is an AI-ready hyperscale development that marks ByteDance's (TikTok's parent company) largest technology infrastructure investment outside of China.
Spearheaded by developer Omnia, a platform backed by Patria Investments, this phased mega-campus is engineered to scale across multiple planned data halls to support high-density GPU clusters. Located within the Pecém Export Processing Zone (ZPE) to maximize tax efficiencies and proximity to international subsea cables, the complex operates as a highly strategic digital export hub.
To sustainably anchor its intense power demands, Omnia secured a landmark 20-year, $2 billion power purchase agreement with Casa dos Ventos to feed the campus with 100% renewable wind energy. With core infrastructure construction actively advancing, the facility is on track to launch its first phase of operations by the third quarter of 2027, ultimately driving a projected multi-year ecosystem investment approaching 200 billion reais (~$39.9 billion USD).
