The proposed Spodegreen Data Centre remains at an early pre-application stage. Innova announced the campus-style project on Tatton Estate land south of Lymm Road near Little Bollington in September 2026 and held an initial public consultation on 30 September, which drew more than 100 residents and sparked strong local opposition focused on green-belt and agricultural land impacts.
A petition against the scheme has surpassed 1,000 signatures. No formal planning application has yet been submitted to Cheshire East Council; Innova has indicated it expects to file later in 2026 or early in 2027 after completing technical assessments and a further consultation.
