Greensparc Wrangell was a proposed 10,000-square-foot edge data center that will not be going into operation at the planned location.
Originally intended for a 1-to-2-acre parcel within the borough-owned 6-Mile Mill property in Wrangell, Alaska, the facility was designed as a greenfield project that would leverage regional hydroelectricity using battery backups and waterless, closed-loop cooling.
However, the project was officially canceled on June 9, 2026, when the Wrangell Borough Assembly voted unanimously to deny the land lease, choosing instead to protect the valuable deepwater waterfront site for maritime economic expansion, such as an upcoming shipyard development and freight barge relocation.
Greensparc develops advanced computing solutions designed to support both local communities and high-demand AI infrastructure. Supported by a leadership team with over a century of combined experience across energy, entrepreneurship, data science, technology, and real estate, the company collaborates closely with local stakeholders and industry experts to deliver tailored projects.
With expansion plans spanning Alaska, the continental United States, and emerging global markets, Greensparc focuses on creating customized, scalable infrastructure that aligns with the specific needs and opportunities of each region it serves.
