In late 2023, Google officially began construction on its third Dutch data center in Winschoten, Groningen. Following a €600 million ($655.1m) investment, the facility officially opened in November 2025. The tech giant acquired the final plot of the Hoogebrug Winschoten business park in the municipality of Oldambt back in July 2021 to facilitate this expansion.
