Galaxy Digital Holdings Ltd. has closed a $1.4 billion project financing facility for the development of its Helios data center campus in Texas. The debt facility will be used for the initial retrofit and expansion of the Helios campus, with the first phase of power to CoreWeave beginning in early 2026.
The Helios campus, previously used by Galaxy for cryptomining, is being converted to host AI cloud provider CoreWeave. Galaxy Digital acquired the Helios bitcoin mining facility from Argo Blockchain. Helios is a 160-acre mining site located in Dickens County, Texas, which Argo Blockchain built in May 2022. The site included a 125,000 sq ft building and associated electrical infrastructure with 180 MW capacity, operating under the ERCOT Deregulated power efficiency system.
