Fortlax Piteå F1

F1 was built in 1991 by the National Defence Radio Establishment which had operations in place until 2001. In the summer of 2004 we started Fortlax AB, whose name comes from the plant being located in Hortlax, Piteå and it’s resemblance to a fort.

The plant is one of the safest, most lavish and professional facilities for data storage and management of IT environments in the world. The property has security level 3, the highest a civilian property can get in Sweden. Server rooms consist of “vaults” inside the building completely separated from each other and the system is also approved by the National Archives for storing digital information from Government agencies.
