Meta Platforms (formerly known as Facebook) operates a data center campus in Odense, Denmark, located at Krogslundvej 140, 5220. The company broke ground on the campus in 2017, and its first data center became operational in 2019. The Odense site consists of three data centers, spanning over 900,000 square feet.
Reports of Facebook looking to build in Denmark surfaced in 2016, before the company confirmed its plans in 2017. The initial 55,000 sq m (592,015 sq ft) development came online in 2019. The company announced a 30,000 sqm (323,000 sq ft) expansion in 2020.
In 2021, the company said it planned to add two more buildings to the campus, totaling around 90,000 sqm (969,000 sq ft), which would have taken the total floorspace to nearly 200,000 sqm (2.1 million sq ft). However, Meta stopped the planned $342 million data center expansion in 2022.
