EdgeConneX has officially entered the Swedish market with an ambitious plan to develop a gigawatt-scale data center campus in Skellefteå. By acquiring land from battery innovator Lyten occupying the former site of the Northvolt Ett campus EdgeConneX aims to leverage the region’s robust renewable energy profile and stable power grid to support the surging demands of AI and cloud providers.

This project is a cornerstone of the newly envisioned Lyten Industrial Hub where lithium-sulfur battery manufacturing will co-locate with high-density digital infrastructure. The collaboration not only revitalizes a critical industrial site but also positions Sweden as a primary destination for sustainable, large-scale digital investment.
