Go to PodcastThe Bed Bath and Beyond data center is located on the NC Data Center Park. In 2024, Texas-based Data Journey acquired the former Bed Bath & Beyond data center in Claremont, Catawba County, and converted the facility from a purpose-built enterprise data center into a colocation facility. This is the company’s second facility.
Located in the Claremont International Business Park, the facility was built in 2013 at a cost of $36.8 million. It was up for sale via auction in 2023 after Bed Bath & Beyond filed for voluntary Chapter 11.
The Claremont Data Center is a Tier 3 data center totaling 47,500 square feet with approximately 9,515 square feet of raised floor space. Significant capital has been invested in the site, shell building, infrastructure and interiors for a 1.0 MW build out. The Property has the ability to double the amount of raised floor and infrastructure capability to a +3.5 MW facility and the existing building can be replicated on the existing 6.95 acre site.
The Claremont Data Center offers an investor expansion through the ability to increase power and cooling capacity on existing white floor space in the existing building, add additional white floor space in the existing building, and the option to add an adjacent 48,000 SF data center.
The Claremont Data Center has robust power availabilities, Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) has multiple 12.5 kV three phase lines within the Claremont International Business Park, as well as a single circuit 100 kV line just northeast of the Property and can deliver up to 120 MW.
