Clearway Energy Group has withdrawn its plan for a data center and natural-gas plant on federal land in Nevada. The company had asked the Bureau of Land Management to convert a 2021 application for a 500 MW solar farm into that project.
The site is about 3,550 acres in the Pahrump Valley, in Clark and Nye Counties—roughly 10 miles southeast of Pahrump and two miles south of State Route 160, near Front Sight Road and a few miles west of the Trout Canyon Substation. No size was ever given for the data center or the gas plant. Clearway now says it will keep the application focused on solar and battery storage.
