The proposed Carbon3.ai data center at Amlwch Port, Anglesey, is a centerpiece of the UK’s newly designated AI Growth Zone, transforming the derelict 61-acre Octel chemical plant into a high-capacity "Sovereign AI" hub.
Strategically located within the Anglesey Freeport to leverage significant tax incentives and priority grid access, the facility will repurpose existing industrial structures to house cutting-edge Nvidia Blackwell Ultra (HGX B300) clusters and HPE ProLiant servers. By utilizing direct liquid cooling technology and on-site renewable energy, the site aims to reduce energy consumption by 30% compared to traditional facilities, forming part of a broader £1 billion national "AI Mesh" designed to ensure the UK's digital infrastructure remains secure, sustainable, and under domestic jurisdiction.

Carbon3.ai is building the UK’s sovereign, secure, and sustainable AI platform.
Responding to the growing demand for compute power, Carbon3.ai is vertically integrated, transforming legacy industrial sites into renewable-powered AI data hubs across the UK. The company generates its own off-grid power, providing low-cost, sustainable energy comparable to Nordic levels.
All infrastructure and data processing are located within and fully subject to UK jurisdiction. Carbon3.ai owns over 50 sites, which are being scaled into AI data centres to enable high-density, low-latency deployment at a national scale, accelerating the journey from concept to production for British enterprises.
