Slovenia's government has announced plans for a new data center that will host both a supercomputer and an "AI factory." The €18 million ($20.21m) investment will fund the facility, which is slated for completion by mid-2026 and will be operated by the Academic and Research Network of Slovenia (ARNES). Once operational, the data center will house a new supercomputer alongside the "Slovenian AI Factory," an EU-backed project with a total value of €150m ($168.4m).
The Academic and Research Network of Slovenia (Arnes) is a public institute that provides network services to research, educational and cultural organizations, and enables them to establish connections and cooperation with each other and with related organizations abroad.
