In September 2026, Chillicothe lifted the 60-day data center moratorium it passed in August. The city is drafting data center zoning rules.

In July 2026, the high-performance computing campus plan for the former paper mill was announced.

In October 2025, U.S. Paper Mill LLC bought the idle Pixelle mill.
