Applications to develop on Green Belt land have been rejected twice by Buckinghamshire Council, but the new government has overruled a local council in July 2025 and granted permission to build a hyperscale data center campus on a former landfill site in Iver, Buckinghamshire.

In June 2024, the council denied Greystoke's second attempt to build a 72,000 sqm (775,000 sq ft) data center near the M25 in Iver, UK. This followed an earlier rejection by the Secretary of State in October 2023, when an even larger 163,000 sqm (1.7 million sq ft) data center was proposed.
