Data Center Campus
Equinix's Science Park campus in east Amsterdam pairs the AM3 data center with the 12-storey AM4 tower next door, linked by campus cross connects and cooled with aquifer thermal energy storage. First built in 2012, with expansions completed through 2020.
Equinix's Science Park campus sits on the east side of Amsterdam Science Park in Watergraafsmeer, beside the University of Amsterdam's science faculty. Science Park is one of the Netherlands' densest interconnection points.
Equinix built and owns both buildings. They stand on two cadastral parcels of about 1.7 ha (Watergraafsmeer B 5131 and B 5173) that Equinix holds on a long-term ground lease. Benthem Crouwel Architects designed both buildings. UDD, a partnership of Unica Fastcom and Dura Vermeer, built the AM4 tower, which rises about 72 m over 12 storeys.
The campus hosts the Equinix Internet Exchange and gives access to AMS-IX and NL-ix. Campus Cross Connects link the two buildings. LightEdge and Contegix resell colocation space inside AM3.
ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 27001, 45001 and 50001; PCI DSS; SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II; NEN 7510; Cyber Essentials; LEED. AM3 won the DatacenterDynamics Green Data Center EMEA award in 2012.
