Edged Energy's planned data center campus on about 400 acres off Long Ferry Road and I-85 in Rowan County, North Carolina, between Spencer and East Spencer. Edged bought the land in 2025 and began site clearing in 2026.

EDC Charlotte LLC, an Edged Energy entity, bought the former Carlton Farms land on Long Ferry Road from Red Rock Developments in November 2025, for about $174 million.

Site: About 400 acres on both sides of Long Ferry Road, east of I-85 between Spencer and East Spencer, Rowan County. Edged's internal code is CLT02.
Zoning: Rowan County rezoned the land in 2022 and ratified a data center text amendment in October 2025. Spencer and East Spencer plan to annex the north and south halves.
Power and water: Duke Energy Carolinas is installing an on-site substation; Salisbury-Rowan Utilities supplies water.
Status: Land clearing began in 2026. No tenant is announced, and a resident petition opposing the campus drew more than 3,000 signatures.
