EfficiencyIT, a UK data center company, has introduced its own line of prefabricated modular data centers. This week, the company unveiled ModularDC, a new line of adaptable, prefabricated data centers for on-premises, distributed IT, and edge computing settings that can be deployed in 12 to 16 weeks. EfficiencyIT claimed that the new line was created, assembled, and designed in the UK and combines its design know-how and selection of exterior enclosures with APC and EcoStruxure technologies from Schneider Electric. ModularDC offers options for in-row cooling, hot and cold-aisle containment, and liquid-cooled solutions for high-performance computing prerequisites. Customers can also select their own uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), standby generators, low voltage (LV) power equipment, and switchgear. Ruggedized systems are offered with customizable options for RF-shielding, improved physical security, noise mitigation, and SCIF compliance.

According to Nick Ewing, managing director of EfficiencyIT, the business has been developing, configuring, and implementing prefabricated systems since 2017 to meet the demands of clients' application-specific data center needs. They are ensuring that their customers' requirements for customized, agile, and ultra-secure data center climates can be met speedily, efficiently while maintaining the engineering reliability their business has built its reputation upon by boosting their offering with committed UK manufacturing capabilities, all of which are fully supplementary to the solutions offered by their partners at Schneider Electric. EfficiencyIT further points out that before construction even starts, clients may view their data center in immersive 3D using virtual reality throughout the planning phase.
