Tritax Big Box is moving forward with plans to develop a 125MW data center in Chelmsford, UK. The company has entered into a development management agreement with Tritax Management LLP for the project, which will be constructed on a greenfield site along Beaulieu Parkway in Beaulieu Park. Earlier this year, DCD reported that a planning application had been submitted to Essex County Council for a two-building data center campus proposed for the site.
Tritax Management, a specialist real estate investor within the Tritax Group, has been appointed to oversee development and technical services for the project, including planning, construction, and power-related activities. The firm will receive £3.3 million ($4.4 million) for work completed to date, with additional payments linked to future project milestones, including planning approval.
Tritax Big Box is also pursuing a data center campus near Slough, west of London. Last week, the UK government approved plans for the 147MW facility, overriding local objections to the development.
