According to Fauquier Times, a data center developer based in Texas has acquired two plots of land in Fauquier County, Virginia. The data center developer signed agreements with landowners in the Catlett and Vint Hill towns of Northern Virginia. The Vint Hill site spans 48 acres, and it was acquired by a McLean-based real estate investment firm earlier in October 2021. According to reports, it has been zoned to accommodate up to 91,150 square meters (981,000 square feet) of data center development.
On the other hand, the 60-acre land in the Catlett Service District is owned by a business entity linked to Joel Barkman and John Grew. The parcel is zoned for industrial use but is not certified for data center development. According to Project Solutions Group, the Vint Hill Technology Campus spans 75 acres. It can also accommodate over 1 million square feet of data center facilities. The Catlett Data Center Park will have two data center buildings on the site totaling 41,800 square meters (450,000 square feet).
