Norwegian data center firm Skygard, which is owned by Norwegian telco Telenor, energy company Hafslund, and investment fund HitecVision, has acquired two facilities from Orange Business Services Norway.
"The acquisition marks an important milestone for Skygard. With this, we are significantly increasing our capacity and becoming a key player in secure data storage – a vital component of the digital foundation for Norwegian business," said Elise Lindeberg, CEO of Skygard.
"We are taking over a skilled operations team and an established customer portfolio, which gives us the opportunity to deliver better service and greater flexibility. We are combining two established data centers with our upcoming facility at Hovinbyen, and together with an experienced organization, we are laying the foundation for further growth."
The firm has also previously announced it plans to build two more data centers in the region to have a combined capacity of 40MW at full build-out.
