United Kingdom: Telecom Group purchases wireless network operator Luminet

Specialist alternative asset manager Telecom Group confirmed on Wednesday that it has completed the purchase of London-based wireless network operator Luminet, effectively expanding its footprint across the UK. 

The Manchester-based Telecom already provides fiber networks to Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Birmingham and this acquisition adds London to its list of existing metro networks. Luminet which was founded in 2005 specializes in Ethernet connectivity across fixed wireless and fiber services.

Christopher Baldock, Telcom Group’s chairman said, "The board of Telcom is delighted to be working with the team at Luminet whose London footprint and strong channel proposition will complement and integrate into Telcom’s network infrastructure and provide a platform for our product portfolio of applications, products, and services aimed at the business market.”
