Taiwan: Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom Developing New Facility in Taoyuan, Taiwan

Taiwanese telecommunication company Chunghwa will be developing a new data center in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The company revealed that the board approved the development of the Lunping Internet Data Center. The new data center will feature five floors above ground and a basement. Its floor area will also be about 20,750 square meters (223,355 square feet).
According to reports, the data center will cost up to NT$ 1.59 billion (US$53m). The company did not reveal the timeline of the facility. Chunghwa currently operates many data centers across the country. The data centers total over 1.93 million square feet (180,000 square meters). It also operates the largest data center in Taiwan. It opened the 969,000 square feet (90,000 square meters) 40MW facility in Taipei in 2016.
