Thailand / Prathet Thai: Supernap Thailand announces signing of PPA to build solar plant

Supernap Thailand has announced that it has signed a PPA with WHA Utilities & Power, to build a solar plant alongside its data center just outside of Bangkok. The project, which will see an investment of THB 30 million (~$886,000), will take place on 10,000 sqm (107,600 sqft) of space. WHAUP will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system for the next two decades. Construction began in early April, with a view to complete the project by the fall of 2022.

Speaking about the development, ​​Sunita Bottse, CEO of Supernap Thailand, said: "Our commitment to provide the best digital infrastructure is once again demonstrated with this initiative towards efficiency and sustainability. WHA UP has been chosen to install the solar power system at Supernap Thailand because of its expertise in engineering and safety and its solid experience in the installation of solar power systems." 

Niphon Bundechanan, CEO of WHA Utilities and Power, commented: "Having such a great company as our customer reinforces WHA UP's position as a standard service provider of solar power systems."
