Australian real estate company Stockland has submitted plans for a new data center campus in Melbourne, Australia. According to Victoria’s planning register, the company has applied for a permit to develop two two-story data centers with a combined capacity of 250MW at 72–76 Cherry Lane in Laverton. While detailed project specifications have not yet been disclosed, the application was lodged earlier this week. The site currently contains a warehouse facility spanning approximately 20,000 sqm (215,278 sq ft).

Founded in 1952 and headquartered in Sydney, Stockland is one of Australia’s largest property developers, with investments across town centers, logistics assets, office spaces, master-planned communities, and land lease developments. The company’s portfolio is valued at AU$10.6 billion (US$6.6 billion), while its development pipeline is estimated at AU$59 billion (US$41.6 billion). Stockland has recently partnered with EdgeConneX on a data center project in Sydney’s Macquarie Park area and has previously developed another facility in the same district.

The company has also previously lodged plans for a 168MW data center in Sydney’s Kemps Creek area. In addition, it is targeting another development at 2 Davis Road in Wetherill Park, which is currently occupied by a distribution facility. In its latest earnings report, Stockland said it has three data center projects included in the New South Wales Government’s Investment Delivery Authority (IDA) fast-track approval process, located in Wetherill Park, Kemps Creek, and Macquarie Park. The company also highlighted three existing sites with secured power capacity totaling 450MW.

Stockland Corp. Ltd has 3 sites.
