Schneider Electric just launched its already fabricated Edge data center with an inbuilt Iceotope’s Ku:l 2 liquid cooling. This data center supports up to 60kW power as standard. However, it can be expanded to 336kW according to request. Also, Schneider Electric promises that this single rack EcoStruxure modular data center will have a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.15. It also said that it could go as low as 1.03.

Furthermore, Schneider says the unit will accommodate most CPU and GPU-intensive HPC Edge applications. Asides from that, it can also be placed outside in extreme weather conditions. This system’s other components and features include battery back-up, fire protection, an 80kW Galaxy VS 3-phase UPS, integrated heat rejection, and redundant cooling.

Also, Schneider says the system’s cooling system helps eliminate the need for fans and other cooling equipment. Besides, Robert Bunger, Program Director, CTO Office, Schneider Electric, said that the new prefabricated data center module meets the need of deploying compute-intensive power in a portable, protected, and dedicated edge environment.
