Proximity Data Centres has announced the expansion of its data center footprint in the UK, with the addition of a new facility in Milton Keynes. Named Proximity Milton Keynes Edge 10, the facility is based on a 3.2-acre site and spans 8,000 sq ft (4459 sqm) across multiple data halls, offering 3MW of capacity.
This opening of the new facility follows the company's recent introduction of its tenth UK facility in Buckinghamshire and looking ahead, it intends to add a further ten sites over the next 12-18 months.
Speaking about the facility in Milton Keynes, John Hall, managing director, Colocation at Proximity Data Centres, said: "Proximity Milton Keynes Edge 10 is ideally located for the many businesses in Central England looking for secure, scalable colocation services combined with high-speed low latency connectivity to meet the needs of increasingly demanding users and applications. The region also has a rapidly expanding technology sector and Edge 10 is ideally positioned to support this important market."
