Oracle: Oracle developing Swedish and Italian cloud regions

Oracle has announced that it has opened new cloud regions in Milan, Italy, and Stockholm, Sweden. These regions are Oracle’s first regions in Italy and Sweden. The regions are also the company’s first in the Nordic region. Under normal circumstances, Oracle always targets having two separate regions in a country for redundancy and resilience. However, Oracle hasn’t revealed details for a second region in Italy and Sweden.

Oracle currently operates single regions in Mainland Europe, e.g., Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, and Germany. The company is currently building a Spanish region scheduled for opening in 2022. In addition, another French region is being developed. The new development also sees Oracle’s available regions jump to 36.
