Oracle has announced the opening of its new cloud regions in Singapore and Marseilles, France. The two regions are Oracle’s first in both countries. However, Oracle plans to open another cloud region in France next year. According to Oracle, the Marseille cloud region works with a “river cooling” based heat exchange system. The facility uses the Canal de Marseille, the Huveaune River, and its tributary, the Jarret River.

Oracle also has single regions available in mainland Europe like the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany. It also has plans for Milan, Italy, and Stockholm, Sweden, later this year. Plans are also in place for a Spanish region next year. Besides, Oracle also has four regions available in the UK, with two of the regions dedicated to the Government.

According to Oracle, it plans to have a minimum of 44 cloud regions before 2022 runs out. It also says it plans to have 38 regions before the end of 2021. The company currently has 34 regions available.
