Omnia, the data center company owned by Brazilian investment fund Pátria, is to develop a data center in Brazil, with an estimated investment of 50 billion reais ($9.4bn), which will exclusively serve TikTok.

The project is expected to consume an estimated 300MW of electricity, making it the largest data center dedicated to a single client ever built in Brazil, according to executives involved in the initiative.

Total expected investment is estimated at 50 billion reais. Omnia will be responsible for approximately 12 billion reais ($2.25bn), earmarked for the construction of the data center's physical infrastructure - including buildings, cooling systems, security, connectivity, and energy supply. The remaining amount will be contributed by the client, focusing on the acquisition and installation of information technology equipment, such as servers, data storage systems, networks, and other computing components essential to the operation.
