The data center operator Nabiax has begun expanding its Alcala Data Center in Spain. The company plans to increase the facility's capacity by 47% by the end of the year, from 15.1MW to 22MW. The center is located northeast of Madrid in Alcalá de Henares. After the expansion process, the company is considering three more expansions: two of 15MW and one of 7MW, bringing the campus to a total of 26,000 square meters with 28 dall halls. Nabiax believes that the facility's capacity will eventually reach 100MW. The data center is certified as Tier IV for design and construction and Tier IV Gold for sustainable operations.

This year, Nabiax sold its 11 Latin American data centers to Actis in a transaction valued by Reuters at approximately $500 million. The eleven facilities locations in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Florida offered a combined 23MW capacity. Nabiax explained that the decision to sell was made to concentrate on its expansion in the Spanish market. At present, the company has an overall capacity of 26MW in Spain, including 10MW in Julian Camarillo, 15.1MW in Alcala, and 1.3MW in Terrassa, up from 11MW when the company was founded in 2019.
