The UK government's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded Google Cloud a £400 million ($542.12m) contract. Google is to deliver a UK sovereign cloud capability to give the MoD a secure cloud platform. The offering will be built on Google Distributed Cloud Air-Gapped.
“Google Cloud is dedicated to supporting the UK government's mission to develop a robust and resilient infrastructure and harness the latest technology innovations,” said Tara Brady, EMEA president, Google Cloud. “This partnership will enable the MOD to accelerate its digital modernization efforts while maintaining the highest levels of security and data sovereignty.”
