Meta, formerly known as Facebook, plans to expand its Odense data center campus in Denmark. Meta says it will be adding two buildings with a total space of 969,000 square feet (90,000 square meters). The addition will bring the total floor space at the facility to up to 2.1 million square meters (200,000 square meters). The company will start construction on the facility in April 2022. The Odense Data Center in Denmark is supported by 294MW of green energy from two wind projects which are also connected to the Odense district heating system.

The company said Odense had been an ideal location for its data center since its inception. Meta also revealed that the city provides a robust pool of talent, fantastic local infrastructure, and amazing community partners. Director of The Trade Council & Global Sustainability, Steen Hommel, said he is excited that Meta is expanding its Odense data center. He added that the investment shows that the country is a great place for digital investments.

Facebook Odense Denmark is located at M. P. Allerups Vej 48, 5220 Odense, Denmark.
