MC Digital Osaka Connected Campus (KIX): MC Digital Realty open data centers in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan

The joint venture between Mitsubishi Corporation and Digital Realty called MC Digital Realty has opened data centers in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. The Tokyo facility is called NRT10, and it offers 38MW of capacity across 407,400 square feet (37,850 square meters). NRT10 is the company’s third facility in Tokyo. KIX12 is a 20MW facility in the Kansai region around Osaka. It offers 20MW of capacity across 197,300 square feet (18,334 square meters). It is also the company’s third facility in Osaka.
President and CEO of MC Digital Realty, Manmine Tezuka, said the opening of a large data center in Tokyo brings the scale of the company’s operated data center to 112MW. He noted that the data center development cements the company’s place as one of the biggest data center operators in Japan.
MC Digital Realty opened KIX10 with an 8MW capacity in Osaka in 2017. It also opened KIX11 with a 25MW capacity in 2019. By opening KIX12, the campus now has a capacity of 53MW. Besides, the company is also planning to develop a 17MW facility called KIX13. KIX13 is scheduled to be opened in 2023.
