WHL Dallas 45 LLC has filed to develop a large campus across two adjacent sites in the Lancaster area of Dallas, known as Project Orange and Project Labrador. Combined, the two sites could host 13 facilities across more than 530 acres, totaling more than 2.5 million sq ft (232,258 sqm) and several hundred megawatts.

Project Labrador, located on 419 acres at 1401 Greene Road, would total five two-story data center buildings spanning 215,790 sq ft (20,047 sqm) and four substations, totaling around 1.07 million sq ft (99,406 sqm) of data center space. A previous site plan that received a recommendation of approval from the Lancaster planning and zoning Commission features plans for two data centers and one substation.

A separate request to reclassify Alba Road for the projects includes a traffic study, which analyzed the Alba Road Data Center development at “maximum build out with 18 buildings totaling 5,662,400 sq ft of data center use,” suggesting more could be in the works.
