Ark: Youngstown: Involta acquires Youngstown-based Data Recovery Services

Involta has agreed to acquire a Youngstown-based data center company called Data Recovery Services LLC. The deal will roughly double the size of Involta’s employee base. The combined company will have nearly 200 employees, according to a news release from Involta, an Iowa-based company that also owns a data center in Akron.
Data Recovery Services, or DRS, owns two data centers in Youngstown and 5,500 miles of fiber optic cable in Ohio and western Pennsylvania. It also operates the WeConnect Community Data Center owned by the city of Westerville, and it leases space in another data center in Pittsburgh. Terms were not disclosed.
