Interxion's latest data center in Frankfurt, Germany, FRA16, has been completed, it has announced. Located on the company's Ostend campus at Hanauer Landstrasse, the facility spans 4,800 sqm (51,600 sq ft) of white space, with a capacity of 16.5MW. The data center is expected to go live later this year.
French engineering company SPIE was responsible for completing the construction of the facility, and according to Paula Guesnet, Head of the Data Competence Center department at SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, the use of a "new site management tool" and the "efficient teamwork" of its specialists across all disciplines (as many of 220) were "pivotal" in the timely completion of the project. He added: "All the commissioning tests have also been carried out now and were passed with flying colors."
Interxion's expansion shows no signs of slowing either, and looking ahead, is planning to grow its footprint with an addition of 12 facilities by the end of the decade.
