Intel is reportedly planning another round of layoffs, with job cuts expected to affect its data center division. The layoffs were first reported by The Oregonian, though the number of employees impacted has not been confirmed.
“As part of our broader strategy to become a more focused and efficient company, (the data center group) is aligning its organization to ensure it has the right roles and skills in place to position the business for long-term success,” Intel said in a written statement to The Oregonian on July 20. “We are committed to treating all impacted employees with respect and providing resources to support them through this transition.”
Intel said the layoffs will not affect its product roadmap and are intended to simplify operations and improve execution. The cuts follow a broader restructuring under CEO Lip-Bu Tan, who took over in March 2025. Intel also eliminated 15,000 jobs in 2024 after reporting significant financial losses.
