The International Finance Corporation has invested $100 million into DigitalBridge’s digital infrastructure. From the investment, IFC has already committed $75 million towards three of DigitalBridge’s portfolio companies. These companies include Brazilian tower firm Highline do Brasil, Indonesian & Malaysian tower company Edgepoint Infrastructure, and Brazilian data center firm Scala Data Centers. The International Finance Corporation says it will be investing the remaining $25 million in any other DigitalBridge’s future digital infrastructure.
With the investment, DigitalBridge will be able to expand Edgepoint, Scala, and Highline’s digital infrastructure businesses. It will also increase connectivity and data center capacity in the regions. CEO of Scala Data Centers, Marcos Peigo, said IFC’s investment gives Scala Data Centers the needed resources to help accelerate its growth in Latin American countries.
IFC is a member of the World Bank, and it has a goal to encourage private-sector development in countries that are less developed. The investment in DigitalBridge is IFC’s first data center financing project.
